Envelope Endorsements
Getting Started
An endorsement is a short, attention-grabbing message visible without opening the envelope. It typically appears as part of the return address or on a coversheet, showing through the envelope window. Endorsements can help emphasize the importance or contents of your mailing.
LetterStream supports endorsements of up to 50 characters for certain mailings.

Endorsements for Regular Sized Envelopes
For mailings using standard #10 envelopes, add an endorsement using the "Extra Line" field on the Return Address page.
Example:
John Smith 1234 W. Main Street Scottsdale AZ 85255 IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS ENCLOSED
This fourth line will appear beneath your return address and show through the envelope window.
Endorsements for Flat Sized Envelopes
For larger, flat-sized envelopes, there are two ways to add an endorsement:
- Extra Line Method – Use the same approach as with #10 envelopes (as shown above).
- Coversheet Method –
- Navigate to the Job Inserts Review page.
- Click the pencil icon on the envelope thumbnail.
- Add your endorsement in the available field.
The endorsement will appear on the coversheet and show through the window of the flat envelope between the return and the recipient addresses.
