Business Associate Agreement (BAA) Through LetterStream

Getting Started

LetterStream is HIPAA-compliant and can sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with your organization upon qualification.

LetterStream provides a pre-written, ready-to-sign BAA for qualifying organizations that need a straightforward agreement in place.

LetterStream uses its standard BAA and does not review, negotiate, or make custom revisions to BAAs at this time.

If your organization requires a BAA, the LetterStream BAA is the agreement available for this purpose. If you are a Covered Entity as defined by HIPAA or will be sending Protected Health Information (PHI), feel free to reach out and we’d be happy to provide next steps!

Qualification

  • BAAs are available for business use only. To verify your business, the company-provided email address on your LetterStream account must match your company's website domain.
  • Your full legal company name must be included on your LetterStream account and BAA. If your company operates under a DBA (Doing Business As) name, you may include it alongside your legal company name.
  • If your email domain reflects your DBA rather than your legal company name, both names must be included on the BAA. For example, if your legal company name is CompanyABCD Inc., but you operate as CompanyWXYZ and use an @CompanyWXYZ.com email address, your BAA should list CompanyABCD Inc. d/b/a CompanyWXYZ.
  • You can update your company name under My Account > Account Settings > Your Default Address, by editing the Company/Individual Name field. Please ensure the name is entered exactly as it should appear on your BAA.
  • The BAA request must be submitted by a LetterStream Account Administrator.

BAA Requirements

To proceed with a LetterStream BAA:

  • Add $500 to your LetterStream account balance.
  • This is not a fee. The full amount is available toward future mailings and will be automatically applied at checkout.
  • Your organization will be able to review LetterStream’s pre-written BAA.
