Can I Mail 1099 Forms Using LetterStream?
Yes, LetterStream supports mailing 1099 forms. You’ll need your 1099s in PDF format, and potentially a matching CSV file to ensure accurate addressing. It's critical to ensure your PDF documents have all fonts correctly embedded into them.
Document Upload Instructions
To get started:
- Create an Account on LetterStream and click Send Letters.
-
Select the "My PDF Document" option first if your PDFs already contain mailing addresses.
If that doesn't work, use the CSV Mailing List option:
- Upload your PDFs as an Insert.
- Be sure to select the Collate button to match documents correctly.
Data Security and Purging
Uploaded files are stored securely. For documents containing sensitive information like 1099s:
- We recommend enabling the Data Purge option.
-
This setting automatically deletes your data after mailing.
To enable:
- Go to My Account after logging in.
- Locate and activate Data Purge under account settings.
By default, LetterStream retains data for mailing reference and research, but purging can be enabled for privacy compliance and peace of mind.
