Not Receiving Verification Codes or Password Reset Emails?

Getting Started

If you're not receiving verification codes, password reset emails, or other expected messages from LetterStream, there are several common causes to check before contacting support. Most delivery issues come from email provider settings rather than a problem with your LetterStream account.

Quick Checklist

Try these in order — most delivery issues are resolved by the first two:

  1. Check spam, junk, and other filtered folders.
  2. Check if your mailbox is full — this is one of the most common causes and often invisible until you log into your email account directly and review the information provided.
  3. Confirm you're checking the correct email address — the one on file with your LetterStream account.
  4. Ask your IT department if you're using a work or school email address.
  5. After those steps are taken, request a new code rather than continuing to wait on an earlier one.

Check Your Spam or Junk Folder

Verification and password reset emails occasionally end up in Spam, Junk, or other filtered folders depending on your email provider.

If you use Gmail or Outlook, also check:

  • Promotions
  • Updates
  • Clutter
  • Focused/Other Inbox

If you find a LetterStream email in one of these folders, mark it as Not Spam to improve delivery of future messages.

Confirm Your Email Address

Double-check that you're using the correct email address or username.

  • Search your inbox for previous emails from LetterStream (order confirmations, mailing notices, etc.) to confirm the address on file.
  • If you're resetting your password, make sure you're entering the correct username.

Make Sure Your Mailbox Isn't Full

If your mailbox has reached its storage limit, your email provider will likely reject new messages — even though LetterStream successfully sent them. This is one of the most common causes of missing emails, and it often shows no obvious warning until you check your account directly.

Things to check:

  • Review your mailbox storage usage in your email account.
  • Increase your mailbox storage if your provider offers additional space.
  • If you're on a work or school account, ask your IT department to confirm whether your mailbox — or a shared organizational mailbox — has hit its quota.

Once space has been freed up, request a new verification code or password reset email. Messages rejected for a full mailbox are not redelivered automatically.

Check Business Email Security Filters

Work and school email accounts often apply additional layers of filtering beyond a personal inbox, which can block or redirect automated emails like ours.

Ask your IT department to:

  • Check any email quarantine.
  • Review spam filtering logs.
  • Add LetterStream to your organization's allowed senders list.
  • Confirm your mailbox is able to receive external email.

If you're on a business email account, your IT administrator often has the fastest path to resolving delivery issues, since they can see filtering and quarantine activity you can't.

Request a New Verification Code

Verification codes expire after a short window, so it's best to request and use one in a single sitting rather than returning to an older code.

  1. Return to the login screen.
  2. Request a new verification code.
  3. Wait a few minutes for delivery.

Don't reuse an older code after requesting a new one — only the most recently sent code will work.
