Document Sizes and Scaling

Getting Started

When uploading documents for your mailing, it's important to match the document size with the paper or postcard stock you select. This guide explains how the system handles mismatches in document and stock sizes.

In This Article

Standard Paper Size Adjustments

Situation: You select standard 8.5" x 11" paper, but your document is slightly larger (e.g., 8.26" x 11.69")

Result: Your document will be scaled down to fit the 8.5" x 11" paper size.

Smaller Document on Standard Paper

Situation: You select 8.5" x 11" paper, but your document is smaller (e.g., 8" x 10" or 2" x 1")

Result: Your document will be imposed on an 8.5" x 11" sheet without scaling up—it will appear at its original size centered on the page.

Postcard Uploads with Larger Files

Situation: You choose the large postcard option (5.5" x 8.5"), but your document is larger

Result: You'll be directed to a crop screen to manually crop the document to fit the postcard size.

Postcard Uploads with Smaller Files

Situation: You choose the small postcard option (4.25" x 5.5"), but your document is larger

Result: You'll also be taken to a crop screen to resize the document appropriately for the postcard.
