LetterStream offers a few return envelope options that allow you to include a custom message or endorsement directly on the envelope. This feature is especially useful if you want to highlight the importance of the enclosed document or add custom instructions such as a signature line.

What Is an Envelope Endorsement?
An endorsement is a customizable text field that prints on the bottom left corner of return envelopes. It allows you to include:
- A general message (e.g., “Time Sensitive Documents Enclosed”)
- Instructions (e.g., “Please Return by [Date]”)
- Signature lines (e.g., “Signature Required ______________”)
This feature adds a professional and functional touch to your return envelopes, ensuring that recipients take immediate and appropriate action. Endorsements will appear as shown here:

How to Add a Return Envelope with Endorsement
- Proceed to the Job Inserts Review page while building your mailing.
- Click the "Add an Envelope" button.
- Choose from the available return envelope options — the top four options support custom endorsements.
- In the Endorsement field, type the message or instruction you want printed on the envelopes.
- Preview your envelope — the endorsement text will appear near the bottom left corner.
Use Cases for Custom Endorsements
Here are a few ways you can use the endorsement feature:
- Highlight urgency: “Important—Please Open Immediately”
- Request action: “Reply Required by October 1st”
- Legal or compliance needs: “Signature Required ______________”
