Landscape and Portrait Printing
Getting Started
When you upload a document to LetterStream, our system will generate a "proof" to show you exactly how your document will be printed. Understanding how our platform handles document orientation can help ensure your content is formatted exactly as you intend.

Automatic Orientation Adjustment
LetterStream’s system automatically rotates all uploaded pages to portrait orientation before printing.
- The contents of the document will also be rotated to fit portrait mode.
- This ensures consistency in printing and compatibility with standard envelope windows.
- Example: If you upload a document formatted in landscape, it will be rotated and printed in portrait orientation.

Previewing Document Proofs
Before finalizing your mailing:
- You will be shown a proof that visually displays how your document will print.
- The proof reflects any automatic adjustments made, including rotation to portrait orientation.
- Always review the proof to confirm the document appears as intended.
Editing Orientation Before Upload
If you want more control over your document's layout:
- Use a PDF editor like Adobe Acrobat to rotate or adjust pages manually before uploading.
- This is especially useful if your document includes charts or images best viewed in landscape.
