Include Tracking Numbers Directly On Document

If you need to include certified mail tracking numbers directly on your documents, there are a couple of different ways this can be accomplished.
Option 1:
If you have flexibility in formatting your documents you can leave the top 1/3 area of page one blank, then delete the coversheet our system adds. This will place the final tracking number and Certified Mail barcode directly on the top right-hand section of your document.

Feel free to use our PDF PreFlight tool to see exact are this information will be placed.

Option 2:

This option is a little more technical, but if done properly, will allow you to capture a tracking number from your proofs and then manually add it to your other documents, then you can upload your final document with the tracking numbers.

If these steps aren't followed exactly, the original tracking number that shows in your proofs will be changed to a new number, and therefore will no longer match the number that was entered onto your other document(s)

  1. Login to your account and click Send Letter(s)
  2. Select the Certified Mail option with signature included (the signature option must be included for this option to work):
  3. After this, make sure your address option is selected, then click continue
  4. Once you get to the Job Inserts Review page, add a sample document and then click Continue to Recipient Review
  5. Review the proof, and take note of the tracking number (such as a screenshot)
  6. Add this tracking number to your document(s), then navigate back to the Job Inserts Review page and replace the sample document with the actual document you'd like to mail out
  7. Continue back to the proofs and ensure the tracking number is the same, then continue
  8. Finally, make sure the option that says "Remove Certified Return Receipt" is NOT selected, then continue to your shopping cart

From there, you can pay for your mailing when you wish to. After payment, be sure to check the proofs once more to ensure the tracking information is the same, and that it still matches the tracking number that was placed onto your documents.
